Translational research

The translational research is a fundamental activity to translate in clinic new protocols. The dedicated laboratory is important to develop production processes and analytical methods. It is equipped with advanced instrumentation in the field of molecular biology, cellular biology and flow cytometry.

In details, this structure includes areas dedicated to cell biology, molecular biology and cryopreservation.

Cell biology area  is provided with flow laminar biohazard hoods, chemical hoods, CO2 incubators, optical and fluorescence microscopes equipped with workstation to analyze images, refrigerated centrifuges.

Molecular biology area includes two image analyzers, two automated sequencers (Applied Biosystems, CA, USA), DHPLC (Transgenomics Inc., UK), thermocyclers, electrophoresis instrument and quantitative real time PCR instrument (ABI Prism 7500, Applied Biosystems).

Flow cytometry laboratory has a Beckman Coulter FC500 and a Becton-Dickinson FACSCanto flow cytometers.

The laboratory works in close cooperation with the Immunohematology Laboratory of Hematology located in San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza.
